An overflow with God's intervention
Reading: Joel 2 vs 18-26
Key verses 24, 26kjv
The land was
smeared with swarms of pests. Their disobedience to God’s instruction met a corresponding
consequence. The resultant effects of that were famine. Hunger pitched its tents to their doorsteps
as the air that hovers around them reeks of gloominess, misery and penury.
Sometimes
people suffer as a result of what they did – disobedience to God’s word.
Disobedience has severe consequences. Examine your present state, take a pause
and have a rethink of your life.
The prophet
– Joel, told them vividly what the Lord has commanded that will cause a change
in their lives. The same goes to you; if your current state is dissatisfying
and you seriously, passionately need a change – a drastic, total overhaul, then
you got to:
a) Turn to God completely.
Pour your heart before Him by
acknowledging your sin, confessing them; then believe on His word that He has
forgiven you and given you the power to live a sinless life.
He promised
that as you returned fully to serve, obey, honor and reverence Him, He promised
an overflow of his blessings. He only has the power to go into your past,
rewrite the history, make the present better and gives a glamorous future.
Thoughts: There is always cause and effect. Nothing
happens without a trigger. An overflow is attainable but is not for everyone.
But you can always be among those that are living above the struggles of life.
The whole choice is yours and your alone.
Prayers:
Lord I ask for your overflow in my life; please take away every pest in any
form that devours my blessings, progress, breakthrough. I plead for the blood
of thine Holy begotten Son to wash away my sins and make while again. This I
ask in Jesus Name.
