Written and sealed
Reading: Mathew 4 vs 1 -10
The enemy
came as an unwanted guest, who derives great and enormous joy in making people
fall short of the command of the Lord, but this time he failed woefully and
left disgracefully. His quest, mission against the Savior of the word did not
materialize as he intended.
The secret
of Christ victory over the devil when he was tempted was the WORD of God. Not
just that he came in the volume of it, he knows also how powerful the WORD
is. One thing is to know the word,
another is to know that the WORD is power-packed; most powerful and potent
letters that have been and forever will be. It is second to none, nothing of
any books can be compared with THE WORD.
You know why
some acclaimed followers of Christ do fall into temptation and still being held
under the lock and keys of the devil?
Your guess
is as good as mine but that wasn’t the case with Jesus Christ. Being tempted of
the devil for three consecutive times in which the devil went to a length of
using the word, too bad for him, Jesus Christ came out victorious.
There is
something imperatives, I would like to pass across to you about the devil use
of the word of God:
a) Anybody can quote the scripture but
each has different motives, understanding of what they quote so be vigilant and
watchful
b) Quoting the scripture word for word
does not make someone a follower of Christ, a genuine born again Christian, so
be wise, allow the wisdom of God to direct you.
c) When the motive is to lead you into
sin and the tempter knowing you are a bible believing Christian cut into the
word of God and quote a scripture out of context, resist the subject with the
word of God boldly and firmly like Jesus Christ did.
Thoughts: Lack of Knowledge of the word is detrimental
but not knowing the power imbedded in it is suicidal. A fall into sin or
yielding to temptation becomes irresistible when one doesn’t know the word or
the power in it. Mathew 22 vs 29.
Prayers:
Lord as I study your word, open the eyes of my heart to know how powerful it
is, deliver me from the spirit of relegating my study of the word, empower me
to overcome temptation. This I ask in Jesus Name
