Gratefulness for God’s deliverance

Reading:  Psalm 30 vs 1-6

Key verse: 1

Mr. Jude Okafor couldn’t hold himself before the church congregant as he came out with his wife to testify to the Glory of the Lord. After a shout of praise to the Lord, he hasn’t spewed more than three words when he burst in tears, one of joy. It became unbecoming that the moderator has to chime in by letting his wife take the testimony as the former knelt down before God, both hands lifted towards heaven.

Verse 1—the Psalmist having known the magnitude of God’s deliverance upon his life especially when the scorners lurked privily waiting to make a jest, mockery of him did not take it for granted. Verse 2-3—God’s prompt response to his prayers by lifting him up from the state of being downtrodden, completely incapacitated of what to do, was reckoned in his worship to God.

Mr. Jude emotional state, born out of great deliverance of God upon his life from being homeless when their landlord threatened to throw away their luggage as a result of accumulated rent that he couldn’t pay because of his joblessness which God likewise salvaged him from by offering him a mouth-watering job in PPRA, Nigeria. He didn’t let it slide. He added a thunderous shout to the Lord after the wife rounded off the testimony. The congregant, in awe, praised and worshipped God for the timely intervention.

A moment of reflection about your life, you will agree with me that God has proven His faithfulness repeatedly in your life by not letting the enemies wish and desire to happen. Had you had a privy into the thoughts and desire of the enemy against your life, you will have every reason to be grateful to God.

God’s deliverance upon our lives is innumerable and we should learn to be grateful to Him for what He has done.

Thoughts for today: Did you appreciate God this morning? Did you map out time to thank Him for His innumerable blessings in your life or where you too much preoccupied that you couldn’t worship Him?

Prayer for today: Lord, deliver me from the spirit of ungratefulness, negligence in recognizing your goodness in my life and help me to turn a new leaf completely. This I ask through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
