Pursue, overtake and recover all
Reading: I Samuel 30 vs 18
Key verse: 8
David, who had been on flight since King Saul
placed a death penalty on his head, camouflaged himself when he came to Philistine
before King Achish. He found favor before the king, who gave him Ziklag, a
south country of Judah annexed by the latter and his men afore. So, David dwelt
there with his two wives and his men. Then there came a battle between the Israelites
and Philistines. David and his men left Ziklag to league with the King of
Philistine, but his request though initially welcomed by the King, later turned
it down when the princes of the land unraveled him before their King. King
Achish bade him a return to his residence and as he returned, his place, had
been invaded by Amalekites: wives, children and possessions looted by them, left
the remnant of the spoils in a burning cinder.
Irrespective of the cadre or state
of life you are in, there abound enemies that have vowed to their own hurt to
ensue that lives become unbearable for others. The Schadenfreude, devils advocate
might have striped you of one thing or the other through their vicious and clandestine
ways but one thing is sure, whatsoever they have taken, stolen, devoured can
and will surely be recovered if you follow it in the right path.
Like David, he did not allow the
calamities or the blames from his men to overwhelm him. He went before God to
enquire how to go about his present circumstances and the good Lord gave him a
sacrosanct response.
Another point to learn is this:
In his quest to recover all, he did not fail to render help. Had it been, he
relegated the Egyptian boy who happened to be servant to the Amalekite, there
exist a possibility that his recovering all might not have gone the way it did.
So, in your quest of pursuing,
overtaking and recovering all, let the Spirit of God guide and direct you. Don’t
be negligent of Angels in humane form that come your way for help. They may be
the connector towards your recovery.
Thoughts of the day: Be open to
the Spirit of God and let Him direct you in your path of recovering all. Don’t be
overwhelmed by your present situation always oversee it in prayer, supplication
and patiently trusting on Him.
Prayer for today: Lord, I come before thee, asking this: help me to recover all that the enemy has stolen from me. This I ask through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
