Dwelling in God's Presence
Reading: Psalm 15 vs 1-5kjv
“Lord, who
shall abide in thy tabernacle? Who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
These are
soul searching questions from a man that has gotten God’s approval, whom God
attributed as a man after His own heart. He already had a relationship with Him
but he was seeking for something beyond that—having an abode with God. For what
it worth it, David was ready to trade anything to have what his heart was
yearning for.
The prize
for it was not to kill or give up his kingdom but could be seen in the sequel
verses. And the criteria needed could be studies under three key points:
a) A pure heart that overflows holy/righteous/upright
behaviors with a passionate distaste for sin/evil.
b) A salt-filled tongue that is under
control and does not meddle, gossip, backbit or stab at the back
c) A contented heart that does not seek
for opportunity to take advantage of people in dire need or have a thought of
swindling innocent people in the society.
I don’t know if you already had a relationship with God—you have repented
from your sins and accepted him as the only Lord over your life, then permit me
to say to you that you can go further with Him but if you don’t have any
relationship that could probably be that you are still in sin however moral
upright or whatever beautiful attributes you could claimed to have.
Thoughts: What will it cost you to
live a life that pleases God always that will attract His immortal glory,
overwhelming presence to make an abode with you. Is your mind made up to pay
the prize? Are you still caught in the middle?
Or do you still enjoy sin and its pleasures over the immortal glory of
God? Be cautioned, choose wisely. For wrong choice cost.
Prayers: Lord, I have my mind made up and am asking
to grant me a passage into your eternal glory and even beyond that to dwell
continuously with you. I ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ.
