A heart felt prayer

Reading: I Samuel 1 vs 1-17kjv.

Key verse:  15kjV

Her affliction weighed heavily on her with every passage of the day. To topple her pain, sorrow of heart; her co-wife—Peninnah became a thorn in her flesh—not only in the house but even beyond the reach of home. Yearly as they go to Shiloh, the latter sting her with venomous words that gnaws deeply into her heart and soul, causing droplets of water to drip from her eyes, plundering her happiness and leaving her acquainted with grief that she becomes anorexic.

But she refused to accept defeat. Though the words gnawed into her heart, she still remains resolute and unyieldingly pouring her heart before only Him that has the power to do the impossible.

A fateful year came she prayed like never before at Shiloh that Eli, the priest surmised that she has been drunken of wine but she maintained her air and cleared the air around the Priest by letting him know that although she looks like a one that is drunken but not with wine or strong drink.

Sorrows of heart led her so. The priest proclaimed peace unto her and prayed for her.

God answers prayers. And the one from a broken. contrite, sorrowful, severely wounded heart, He will not despise at all. She later conceived and bare a son and called him Samuel –because I asked him from the Lord.

Salient points from the chapter:

a)     When you are afflicted, troubled, cry out to God.

b)     Reviled at, don’t revile back. Leave it for God that judge faithfully.

c)     Any clergy man can misconstrue sometimes, don’t launch verbal attack on them, meet closely to them and clear the air.

d)     Be patient and persistent in your prayers.

Thoughts: How do you react when people mock you? What if when misconstrue by a clergy man? Have you by your hands hindered, delayed your miracles by your behavior?

Prayers: Lord hear me as I call unto thee. Take away every garment of shame in my life and clothe mw with garment of glory, irresistible beauty that shines far and beyond. This I ask through Jesus Christ my Lord.
