Baptism of the Holy ghost

         Reading: Acts 2 vs 1-8

Key verse: Acts 2 vs 4

The D- day came, but it was unknown to them that the day they have been looking up to was that day. Yes, it was already foretold in the past—Joel 2 vs 28-29kjv, reaffirmed by their master, Rabbi – Jesus Christ (John 16 vs 7 -8kjv). The love among them as they waited steadfastly in prayers and fellowship for the promise was without dissimulation, pretense, hypocrisy. It was genuine, practical and pragmatic. The atmosphere was inducting. Suddenly, it came like a mighty rushing wind, appeared on top of them as a tongue of fire. They all were baptized, filled with the Holy Ghost.

Diverse tongues flirted through the air. The diversities of the languages they spoke threw the neighbors and the passerby into commotion that they began querying among themselves of what their ears have heard.  Some among the neighbors – naysayers had the people of God to be drunk and their assumptions were not allowed to fall into the ground before being arrested.

Peter, stood up immediately and arrested the sayings of the naysayers, used that beautiful opportunity and preached Christ to them. His message materialized its essence for three thousand turned a new leaf and were integrated into the church.

From that moment onward, the lives of the disciples who initially were ridden with fears, uncertainty, had a complete overhaul and became that filled with faith, boldness and eagerness to preach the gospel even at the expanse of their lives.

The Holy Ghost baptism brought a lasting reform in their ministry.

There are salient points you should know about the Holy Spirit

a)     Holy Spirit is Holy so it can never dwell in a place that has an iota, a fiber of iniquity in it. No, it won’t.

b)     Speaking in tongues is the first tell-tale sign that someone has received it but it doesn’t end only in speaking in tongues.

c)     Not all that speak in tongues are truly baptized. Don’t be startled, some might be enchanting when they speak, while a few will be speaking gibberish.

d)     You can’t be baptized with the Holy Ghost and not have passion for the lost soul.

e)     To receive it, you have to thirst after it and wait patiently in prayers.

Thoughts:  A Christian Life without the Holy Spirit, is a life filled with struggles, a juice – sapping life, being tossed by every slightest confrontation of the world, devil and foes alike.

Prayers: Lord I sincerely thirst for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Please fill me with thine Spirit. And whatever may be an impediment to me receiving this, take it away from my live. This I ask through Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior.
